    Hey everyone,

I'm gonna go on a road trip to clare in the mext two weeks and plan to visit the Father Ted set along the way.

I'm aware that only the outside of the house was used in filming and the inside was in wales or somewhere.

But a few photos of the house etc would be brilliant,:D

If anyone knows where EXACTLY the house is I'd really appreciate the help.

Would it be to cheeky to look for GPS co-ords?

    Thanks

    Corglass

    Carron, Co. Clare.

Leave Ennis, go out the Lahinch Road, take a right going for Corofin, continue on (straight) to Kilnaboy and take a right turn for Carron at the corner of the big castle, can't remember the name of it. I think it's pretty much straight on for about 10 minutes, and you'll see the house there on your left.

Hippies live in it now, there's the odd tent set up outside, there's a bit of an extension built, and the hall doesn't look anything like the TV programme.

Or just go to the lingerie section of Dunnes in Ennis, 'tis where the Xmas special was filmed many moons ago.

i had a great laugh when i was at the ATM in the said store, behind and old woman and i said "irelands biggest lingerie section" when a friend rang me on the mobile phone and asked me where i was....the old woman gave me such a funny look (probably because i said it in the same funny accent as the priest in the show)

    I heard Its a B&B ?

A couple of my mates went down there a few years ago, there was a large tramopline outside which looked very much out of place. Although now I see that every second house out in the "sticks" has a trampoline these days.

I believe there is also a you-tube video of some people doing the trip
    Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fVH9ZgLT_E

From googlemaps you can tell its truly in the middle of no-where.
Im sure that house will be there for the next few thousand years, prob protected under "cultural Heritage" or something..

I was out at the house back in December and again about 2 weeks ago. Dont think its a B&B, there was some kids playing on the swings outside the first time i was out there.

Just to let anyone know who might be interested. I logged onto the "friends of ted" website yesterday and registered with it in the hope of getting offered some tickets for tedfest. I didnt think there was any chance of it.

Lo and behold checked my email yesterday afternoon and as a subscriber to the website was offered tickets to either or both events. So I bought two for the festival in Kilfenora.. Yipeee.... I couldn't believe it as apparently the tickets were like hens teeth.

Anywho it might be worth a shot subscribing to the website for anyone interested in going. I think 3 is the max you can get and they are non transferable.

Yeah theres Kilfenora ones left - go to www.friendsofted.org/tickets ... theyre 75 each. The Inis Mor one is completely sold out though, not much chance of anyone getting tickets for that.

DONT follow these instructions! Leave Ennis on the Lahinch Road, take a right for Kilfenora and Corofin (about 2 miles out). After you pass through Corofin, you will come to Kilnaboy. In Kilnaboy take a right, signposted Kilnaboy Church and School. About 3 miles out that road the house is on your left. A farmer and his family live in the house.

Lots of other locations in Co clare, including the Chinese Pub (Vaughans in Kilfenora), Very Dark Caves (Ailwee Cave), The Roundabout scene (Kilfenora), The Hell campsite (Fanore) etc etc.
