Berlin - apartment rental - areas to stay

    A few lads(4-6) are heading to Berlin for 4 days. We are probably going to hire an apartment (heard its cheaper than hotels etc...).

    What areas are we to look for? none of us have been to Berlin before. Looking for somewhere central which is within a few mins of where the main bars clubs etc.. are (not asking much!!)...i.e not out in the suburbs.

    What sites do most people use for apartment rental. Have seen many on the net but not sure which is the most popular.

    Ok, I know this isnt really what you're looking for, but I'm just back from Berlin a few hours literally. The public transport is class, so it isnt that bad if you are in the subarbs. Heres a place where I stayed, very cheap, and bloody massive.

    Cant speak highly enough of the place, well worth it! Train station pretty much underneath it, same with tram line to central city and further.
