Maybe EOS is thinking there is no need for a press conference since he's going to pick all the same players as before and add Luke because of his [unwarrented] hype by Leinster high archy

Aye, got me all excited too.....sigh...all I can find anywhere are vague references to it being sometime this week...though I'm sure someone in the sky commentary teams over the weekend mentioned it would be today....

Well it's not a case of adding. Horgan (Shane that is) is out injured. Hickie's retired. So has John Kelly. He's got to bring at least two new backs in. Who would you rather he call up? The Shannon and Cork Con backs that can't get on to the Munster team any more because of all those South Sea boys?

    I don't think so.

Never said i wanted Luke on personally i think he's nothing the hype says he is and is better off in the AIL. Id rather have Bowe and J.Murphy on the wings if it had to be

you must know lots about rugby and individual players merits ability to say Fitzgerald is only good enough for the AIL. Bowe did play well the weekend too and has improved a lot. Definitely think at least 3/4 younger backs should be given a go at least against scots and italy once the pack are functioning well.

Are you serious? Did you not see his steps on Saturday against one of the best teams in Europe. He'll be on the fringes of Ireland this year, he's probably not up to Test level yet but the AIL you're having a laugh.

You do relise that EVERY pro in the game has come from the AIL? Name any player and ill tell you they served their dews with their club in the AIL and they still do players such as Sexton Barry Murphy etc. And also any respectable winger could do what he do nothing special at all as iv said average. Now lets not let this go off topic

Not really true now is it, most players in Ireland setup under 27/28 went from schools into Provincial Acadamies and served very little time in the AIL, maybe to keep sharp when no provincial games or coming back from injury. Some have but to say every pro served his time in AIL is incorrect, but hey wouldn't like to go off topic now would we.

Who's picked on the squad is almost irrelevant - it's who will be picked on match day is what's important. I can see the likes of Heaslip, Sexton, Fitzgerald, Buckley, Donnacha Ryan and Kearney maybe getting the call up but of that group Heaslip and Buckley will be lucky to get a run on match day.

O'Sullivan's job is on the line and he'll pick a team he's confident with and worry about squad developement later, maybe the autumn internationals.

I can just see EOS playing it safe and picking pretty much the exact team for the games as the world cup, its a joke if gleeson, jackman and heaslip are not on the actual team imo!

Picking the likes of Heaslip isn't just an exercise in squad development, it would be a better team plain and simple. Hopefully EOS sees it that way too.

i think for italy,he will play some of the fringe players and see where it goes, the naming of the squad tommorow is pointless from our point of view becuase we already know he will name the squad we all predict, its the team on the day that counts

Ah come on now I'm sure Comical Eddie can come up with something to upset us with.He is bound to leave out somebody that most people think should be in the squad. He has his reputation to uphold after all.

He's going to pick a team to win as much games as possible in the 6N's, without a thought for team development.

Had we done better in the WC he could've tried a few new guys out, but his job is under pressure and he needs to deliver results NOW or else he's a gonner.

There won't be many, if any surprises in the squad, and starting XV.

Yeah, Eddies job is on the line, so I doubt there'll be many surprises.

That said, with Best's ankle injury & Flannery likely to be cited, there should be room for Jackman to make the starting XV.

Maybe it is delayed until after 5pm today when they will know if Flannery is to be cited or not.
