    Well,
I was at a hunt yesterday taking photos of the hourses,And the arrranger of the hunt came up to me and said he'll get in contact with me after the hunt for photos in the end i told him i knew one of his friends and we'd sort it out through him.First of all i took 300 pics maybe 80-90 of them were ones i liked do i give them all to him?or just the ones i chose?
    Second do i charge anything?
It was set up by him i dont know if you have to pay to go on it with your horse and if i should charge how much?
    Many thanks,

Make up a few prints, and show them. If they want to buy, then charge a reasonable rate, making a few euro per print.

I would only make a selection of your very best.

If they want your prints, they won't have a problem paying for them.

80 - 90 pics you 'liked' from 300 or so shot...far too many IMO - be more critical .....reduce it down to pics you are proud of!

I'd bring it down to around 50 or less. If they're serious about buying some of the prints, I'd make up proofs first and let them choose. Maybe put something together like ten 10x8 prints for €150 or higher, depending on how much you think you're worth and how professional you come off :D

Alternative to printing proofs is to give them a preview CD. If they want to buy a high res CD with 50 ish images on it to print from themselves, I'd go in the region of €300/400.

See the day was sunny and the cams white balance was messing around on every setting :p.They were the ones that came out best

Ill try that then and see what he says

6x4 best size or will i go bigger?:D

6x4's for proofs.. and make sure you tell them they're proofs... Watermark them or something

I'd choose your best 6 shots - he is interested in some fine photography showing the hunt at its best, not a step by step account of the day.

Only show him truly fantastic shots. You will be able to sell these for more than you will a packet of 90... You can let him know that further shots are available if he is interested in a record of any particular stage of the event.

did he say what his interest in them was? hanging them up in a clubhouse/pub somewhere? just wanted a photo of his horse?
it'll affect whether he'd be willing to pay for them, and how much.

€15-20 per shot (8x12 or A4) would be grand, maybe print up contact sheets for them to look at and as above limit the amount to show as people cant decide if there is too many. Rymus makes a good point to print 6x4's with a watermark. I have followed a lot of hunts and still have yet to see or hear of a Fox being caught, more of them killed on the road from what I see !!

I would be careful about having them up on Flickr too as who knows what hands they would fall into..

I'd go one further to suggest that if they're for a paying job, they shouldn't go anywhere near flickr. Maybe one or two of them if you get the permission of the client, but nothing too excessive

That was what I meant :)

Yeah, I'd certainly remove them from FlickR if you intend to sell them.

But, since the job wasn't commercial (at the time), then I don't see why you shouldn't use them on FlickR (even without permission).

Its just a question of who get a hold of them, I have one or two shots on my flickr and I received an email from hunt saboteurs (they didnt mention this) looking to use my pictures, I found out who they were and deleted the shots from flickr

Ah, those people. Now I see.

    Better safe than sorry.

I dont swing one way or the other but it would have compromised if I was working for them again.. :)

sounds like hunt saboteurs are polite people.

He was the person who set the whole hunt up.He went round to the farmers and asked for permission for the horses to go on the land.He then set the time etc.
So im assuming he wanted shots of the whole event :D
