My driving licence is out of date next month. Do I have to do a theory test or just appy fore new licence and it will arrive in the post.

Also, does anyone know what I can apply for without having to do a test.

    Car
Car with trailer less than 750kg (anything more now requires another test)
    Work vehicle

    Anything else?

    Full or provisional renewal?

AFAIK theory test is only a requirement for people applying for first licence. Well, maybe a requirement if they've been disqualified.

For renewal, just send in the form with the required docs: eyesight test, medical clearance is applicable.
I had renewed my full B (car) licence before I started on motorbike. Had to do theory test and had a separate provisional A licence. When I passed the bike test, just sent in full licence and had bike added to new licence.

Provisional licence renewal is more convoluted. Proof of taking test, and the more recent learner permit changes introduced last October.
