Can anyone tell me what the foundations would have been for a poured concrete house bulit in the 1950s in North Galway many thanks

If I knew the answer to that I could win the lotto;)

God only knows what was used in those days. Probably a couple of feet wide of lean mix.

Why do you ask if you dont mind me asking?

Site investigation is the only way to know, could be anything, or nothing.

Muffler had to get a pest control company out after noise and damage to a ceiling in two rooms of bungalow the only visible access found was digging beside the path beside the house and the theory is that they were able to find away in under the path then a weakness in the wall and then straight up between outside wall and the dry lining into the attic. SCARY

The little rodents can make their way in almost anywhere. Is it wooden floors in the house by any chance? That would have been a preferred route for them down the years but foundations in the 50's could have been anything.

Have done a temporary fix at the source with glass and filler for now but have decided to rip up the path as it is fairly crap anyway and put in a permanent fix
