    Hello people,
whats the deal with this game. Is it a free demo or is it the actual game?
I heard some people are able to download it from europe. Others said its not availible anymore.
How do i get my hands on it?
    Cheers.

Wasn't it taken down from the Japanese PSN?

From what I remember, that version of the GT demo was pulled from the Jap site (presumably because it was being raped by Yanks and Europeans)

Someone posted though that that demo is soon to be launched on the European store.

Personally, I was underwhelmed by the GT HD 2.0 demo.

A good few posters on this site and AVForums hyped it when it was first out (early PS3 days), saying it was 'crystal clear' looking, like you're actually driving in the mountains. When I first hooked my PS3 up to my HDTV, that demo was one of the first things I played. After all the hype, I thought my TV was borked. Evidentially, as others would appear to agree with now, that is not the case.

Personally I feel too much time has gone into the recent GT games. The format is a little stale, not much has changed since the original revolutionary 'driving experience' which debuted over 10 years ago on the PSone.

Right so I think i'll go by your storey, i've been on the japa site looking for the download link and got nothing. I read the full game is coming out in October thats not far away so maybe they won't bother bringing the demo to Europe:confused:
    Cheers

P.S. Your link to porn on youtube is actually the homepage to bebo.

Really :D! It was a shrill link to my bebo page. But I since made mypage private after going for a series of interviews and finding out that prospective employers look up your bebo.

It was only ever going to be there for a short time. Something to do with a motor show or something.

I believe the GT5 Demo was removed from the site when Prologue was released……I missed it by 1 day!!!

I’ve also created Hong Kong account - hopefully it will appear on there soon, if not guess I’ll have to for it on the USA or UK store.

Don’t know how to add funds to Jap or USA site - I want to but I’m nervous using something I don’t know much about - like wirecard.

    :(

I bought the full game GT5 Prologue from the jap store last month when it was launched.
To do it I had to create a japanese PS shop identity, I bought a PS3 store ticket from eBay that had the required funds on it, cost me about €40.
I then followed simple online instructions and then bought and downloaded the full game GT5 Prologue. And very very nice it is too.
It looks gorgeous and plays very nicely too, I have never seen an in-car view so well rendered.

Know anyplace that has the translations for the menus ?

Also, is there much aliasing and v-sync tearing ala Ass's Creed ?

    www.gtplanet.net

Look through their forum, there's a thread with translations for most of the screens in the game.

Aliasing is quite noticeable - it's the only thing standing between the game and photorealism. I've also seen v-sync tearing once or twice on the London track (most detailed track by far) but it's pretty rare.

How you getting on with it?

I love the race at Suzuka where you have a lap to get from 16th to 1st. Really challenging and a completely new style of play from the old games with the focus on overtaking properly.

I'm struggling with some of the other S class events though, think it will be a while before I complete them all!

    jesus christ, march??
Seriously sony, youre ****ing yourself up the ass here. As it is the PSN is already trailing behind xbox live in terms of content, i mean how long does it take to convert what is essentially a demo into englisg? Its been out in japan since what, october/november?? Taking 4 or 5 months to port what is essentially a glorified demo to the european store really isnt selling the service to anyone

FYI, if anyone is still looking to download the Jap demo, you'll need to find someone who downloaded it already.

It's gone from the store, but I downloaded it when it was available and when I re-formatted my PS3 a couple of weeks ago (for a re-partition and YDL install) I was able to re-download the game from my previously downloaded list in the store, even tho it's not visible.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get to the store directly via the PS3 browser?

If you can, I could try copying the URL from the download page and see if anyone else can still download the demo that way.

    just a thought.

They dont care, 50 percent of playstation users have never even been online gaming. Their core market does not depend on online like the 360 does.

Their is also the fact that they are gearing up for a psp, and ps3 game, the release of the demo will be timed in europe to get our appetites wet for them, not like in japan when it was released for the motor show.

Also, with the development of Home and other services sony can be forgiven for neglecting things a little bit, I mean they are gearing up for a completely new system. It also shows that they are willing to push their massive user psp/ps2/ps3 userbase online.. Which means thing will start kicking up a few gears soon i would think.

Well the site seems to be down at the moment. But when its back up i can give u a direct link. You need to download the demo aswell so giving you the software would be pointless.

I have a PS3 Jap Account setup with GT Prologue Demo downloaded. Anyone who wants it can PM me. I'll then give them details so they can setup acc and download it on their PS3.

Finally got this in from Hong Kong. It's good even though it's not final code.

Some of the time challenges are quite tough tbh.

Anyone have any more updates on this?

I just got a PS3 and and Logitech G25 this week so I would like to try them out.

I have started downloading GTHD concept 2.0 but would obviously prefer something newer. I have also set up a Hong Kong PSN account but I don't have a credit card to buy prologue.

Is there any way to get the prologue demo these days?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 28,128 ✭✭✭✭Mossy Monk

You could buy it online. It is available on a Bluray disc also. But alas a credit card would be needed also for this option.
