I used to recommend his book to my personal training clients about 10 years ago, which was about the time that his first book "Enter The Zone" came out.

I think it's a great book and I agree with the main principles, especially in terms of the effects of both insulin and glucagon.

i have been adjusting to it over the last 5 days or so but find its difficult to get sufficent protein. it advises 3 main meals per day and 2 snacks with 4 blocks of protein per meal and 1 for snacks. given that 7grams is 1 block it amounts to 98grams per day. i know the obvious thing is to increase protein at snack time but even increasing to 4 blocks just amounts to 140grams. im 11st 9lb and would like to increase weight to about 12st 7lb and reckon i require more protein. im not sure if this can be achieved on this diet, especially when cals are restricted by cutting out starchy carbs like bread, potatoes, pasta etc

Add more protein if you feel you need it. The main thing is to cut out processed and refined carbohydrates and to eat protein with each meal.

I'd also recommend you supplement the diet with intense strength training sessions. :)
