A few snaps taken this morning of the floods in Carlow town. The river Barrow burst its banks yesterday morning after the heavy rains the previous day. There was a few roads closed off around town resulting in chaos come 5/6pm, meant thought that there was parts of time 'car free' and nice and quiet :D

    Enjoy......

Did'nt they spend several million a few years back to stop this sort of thing?

You'd think that the magical engineers can sort of divert this type of thing away nowadays, seems the council nor govt have not learnt any lessons.

Yeh right, developers have built loads of estates on flood plains, the horse has already bolted!
I'd be pissed if i lived in one of those towns like Carlow/Kilkenny/Clonmel, tis sad state of affairs.

Great pics Croppyboy1798, that fella parked his jeep on the bridge which looks like it was going to be submerged, foolish i think.

Btw,did you find any fish? :D

Flooding will happen no matter what, its nature, somewhere has to flood once there is excessive amounts of rain/water. The river was dredged a few years back, and probably only for that the current floods and many previous floods would be a lot worse, at least here in Carlow town anyway, I've seen lots of bad floods when I was younger.

No fish I'm afraid gurra :p
