I have an old Inspiron 5100 and I think the battery has had it. There is a light that keeps flashing which usually indicates that the battery is low, but now its fully charged and the it keeps flashing. Is there any way to reset this besides taking the battery out which works? I run on power so its not that important its just annoying. Would I be better off buying a spare battery from ebay.

Is it a flashing orange light? This means your battery's had it alright I'm afraid.

You could buy a battery on ebay, the best place to get them really. Just make sure you check they have a good bit of positive feedback & look at the negatives too - apart from always being good advice for ebay - some cheap batteries may be unsafe and may possibly, worst case senario, explode (not trying to scare you here, just be aware).

Yeah there are a good few on ebay. Will probably pick one up. It does run on the battery for about 30 minutes though. I used to get 1 1/2 hours out of it.
