The Irish Film and Television Academy awards are upon us again.
Am I the only one who thinks that these awards are a complete joke?

Last year the esteemed Academy failed to nominate Once as best picture yet it won an award at the far higher regarded Sundance.

This year the atrociously bad Shrooms is up for an award as best picture. The same movie that was reportedly booed at last year's Horrorthon festival.

8 (I think) films were made here last year so they can hand out an award to each of them.
