    hi guys
iv been using camino for quite some time, and have noticed it stalls regularly, has been fantastic to date, but it just isnt doing the business anymore, hence i m on the search for a good web browser yet again!
    any suggestions?
im looking to find a mac compatible web browser that has a 'auto fill' function that will allow me to ill out forms etc quickly, is there such a browser available?
also i want to be able to make changes to the profile or databank from which the browser will pull the data from, for this auto fill function

also im lookin for a way to stop a process fro running at startup on my mac, i checked the activity monitor and i found a few google apps to be running and i think there the reason for the odd freezing screen or spinning beachball on the macbook, anyone know how to stop these programs from running at startup or get rid of them completely?
    thanks
    ed

In answer to your first question, Safari. It pulls autofill info from your keychain for usernames and passwords and from your personal entry in the Address Book for other autofill information.

In answer to your second question, System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login Items. Remove what you don't want (don't untick them, the ticks just mean they're hidden - remove them completely).

I know some users here won't believe me but I personally think that Safari is an excellent web browser; more so than Firefox or Opera (which are good) and light years ahead of IE.

Take two spoons of this, that will sort out that nasty cough.

I use Firefox simply for the extensions.
boards doesn't work in Firefox so I use Safari when I'm here...

Safari all the way. It's integrated best with the OS, it's fast, it's stable.

Safari 3 is ok but practically unusable without Saft and PithHelmet imo.

    What difference do they make?

PithHelmet is an ad blocker, works well but I wanted a more system-wide solution and went for Privoxy instead. Some might consider it overkill but it works for me.

Saft is a do-everything kind of plug-in, too many things to list here. I don't use it, I might have found a use for it if it was compatible with SafariStand, which I use to stop plugins (flash etc.) loading automatically - nothing worse than listening to music and then being blasted by a Woody Woodpecker video someone's stuck up on a website. Well OK there's worse but it's annoying :p

you have to pay for saft though?

Saft has a single-window mode and will restore tabs after a crash/quit.

And yeah you have to pay for it, the reminder is really really annoying as well.

At $12 (€8.17 by today's rates) it's hardly going to break the bank though.
