My boyfriend has a Toshiba laptop for the last year and a half which he has never had problems with at all.

I'm looking to get a laptop for myself and would like to get a Toshiba. I don't really know what's out there at the minute and I wonder could anyone suggest anything... I'm willing to spend up to about €900.

    Thanks!

€900 will buy you a very good spec laptop, doesn't have to be toshiba , alot of people here recommend the Dell Vostro range of laptops as there great value for money. You could get a nice Toshiba (if thats what you really want) for that money too.
I Recommend window shopping on www.laptopsdirect.ie but NOT buying it from them as they have a chequered feedback and history.
See if theres anything there that you fancy other than that its PC World or Dell.ie really.
Check the Bargain Alerts forum for the Laptop Deal of the Day Thread too for any good Dell offers that are about.

You should also try elara.ie. Here is a link to all their Toshiba laptops with 2GBs of ram (you'd really want that for vista) arranged from the cheapest to the most expensive. They have a few for within your budget although you really shouldn't need anything better than the first one on the list.

We bought an excellent spec laptop in PC World in Blanch for €699, it was on sale, not sure how long the sale will last but I'm delighted with it
