    was this the piece that was supposed to be on yesterday? and was there any mention of the WW3 thing or was that just a passing comment by the DJ at the time?

    No he mentioned it again at the start of the show, something along the lines of "well, it isn't exactly world war 3, but...".

    The bit I heard started with a guy saying they were to real then we went to Extremetaz(sp?) the IAA Public Relations Officer, Hivemind and Shiva. Shiva is supposedly gonna take it up full-time.

    I inferred that all Russians were evil.

    Ooops :o

    It's funny that you mentioned that about the AKs, because it's true, nobody wants them. Even a few years ago, AKs were all anyone talked about and now everyone's after the armalites.
    AKs do indeed have a stigma attached to them.
    Compared to the the M4s, M16 styles and new HK AEGs, we've sold hardly any AKs.

    Yeah....same here. They're always the last to move.
    And strangely enough, they seem to be the most reliable, at least as far as clones go.

    Hey I love my AK!

    I'd even consider luuurving it, if I could only think of a way.

    Is it up on RTE's website yet? And is it drivetime or drivetime sports?

    **on topic**

    Nice show, good to see some positive media and hopefully a sign of things to come.

    **off topic**

    Have to stand up for the AKs thought m4/16 will always be more popular thought you can just do so much with them, but a full steel real wood ak, akm, ak74 is a work of art, but not really the thing people are going to go for when they first get into the sport :P also a lot easier to get western modern western gear compared to authentic Russian stuff but then again 2008 does look good for ak's with a wealth of new products out there.

    Funny because I think an aksu just looks the best, and i have an m4.

    Very good publicity for Airsoft. Well done to everyone involved (except the Russian comment :mad: ) I do agree that AK's aren't popular at all here or in a few other places. They sell very well in continental Europe and the U.S. and extremly well in Asia though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,170 ✭✭✭✭ED E

    Aks are Damn cool. A cyma one is next on my list. And, as an added bonus you get 600rnd mags:D

    I dunno, I think it was kind of 50/50
    half of the time it was like they were saying "these weird dangerous people in a field", the other half of the time "great fun and exercise"

    it didn't really have a set opinion, but maybe thats good, it will draw in some publicity anyway :)

    My sig says it all for my AK love, I love Russian equipment what can i say? Anyway gonna listen to the show now...

    You need to have real player installed for it to work.

    A good report about airsoft! This can only lead to bad things. We'd lose our bad boy image and salons will no longer fall silent when we walk in the door. Women and children will openly talk to us in the street rather than run for cover and peer from behind closed curtain.

    +1 against haircuts.

    You know that hair are your antennas to the cosmos and that all haridressers are in the employ of the government. This is the reason that bald men are uptight.

    I'll have you know I haven't had a proper haircut in at least 15 years. Salons where cowboys would get drunk not the hair fetish place.

    Saloon = Cowboy Bar
    Salon = hairdressers

    A salon is a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring hostess or host, partly to amuse one another and partly to refine their taste and increase their knowledge through conversation and readings. :p Now see we're both wrong, lets just leave it at that. :D
