Sounds like a Meet and Train group - I think there's an established system of setting these up. Google Meet and Train, and there may be one in your area already, or else you could start one yourself.

Thought to self - Meet and Train isn't just dublin is it???

I was in Emerald ac for years. After juniors most enter Limerick AC, which i am in now. Another group off the top of my head is the country club runners on the cratloe road. They meet 2/3 times a week as far as i know,i've ran with them a few times, pace from 7'30 to 10'00 min miling. Half 7 on wednesdays and sunday mornings but dont quote me on it. Theres a few other groups around UL, i see them all the time, just dont know what they call themselves.
