    Hey folks,

I like watching the odd video clip of the fire service (not necessarily the Irish one) in action, training, etc., but can't find a huge amount of material on the interweb. Anyone else know some good ones? Not just the fire service of course.

This is a pretty amazing training display that shows how dangerous backdraught can be!

www.rescue911.de i think has a fair few videos on it., failing that, youtube seem to have aload of ambulances and fire trucks and some police cars responding to incidents.

i remember seeing one about one of the dfb crews, will track it down.

    found it; http://www.ifilm.com/video/2866651

Backdraft? Or is it a flashover?

    Definitely a flashover

    Very impressive though

I'd reckon flashover too, there's an accompanying smoke explosion too which confuses things a bit though.

According to the comments on the video, it's being demonstrated as backdraught, in fairness we only see about 20 seconds with the door open, it could have been closed before that to starve the fire of O2.

There's lots of variations of "extreme fire behaviour" when it comes to ventilation controlled fires, but sometimes there's not an awful lot beween them in reality.

I reckon there should be a tv programme on the guards. Something similar to the UKs Road Wars/Car Wars and Street Crime. Would show the general public what the guards actually do each day. Not only view car chases and public order but also scene of crimes like burglary, traffic stops etc.
