Anyone know of a cheaper airline than Ryanair that flies direct to Barcelona from Dublin? Ryanair is €63 at the mo return, which is good, just wanted to shop around bit more!! I did a Google search but nothing came up cheaper...

they fly direct to barcelona not girona or reus so you're in the city very quickly. flew with them in september, no complaints.

Check out clickair.com or see if aerlingus have any deals going for the time you want to fly.

Note that Ryanair do not actually fly directly to Barcelona. They only take you to either Girona or Reus, which are both another couple of hours from Barcelona.

I was looking at Aer Lingus out of Belfast and a flight departing on March 5th and returning on March 12th came to £48.

you want cheaper than €63 return to barcelona  take it and fly into reus, spend at least a night in salou (its about 3 miles from reus airport) and check out port aventura theme park which has some of the best rollercoasters in europe, salou is also on the coast so great beaches etc, its a really good town and well worth a visit

There doesn't seem to be anything available with Clickair after January 31st. Pain in the hole if they've decided to discontinue the route! :( Tbh, you're better off flying Aer Lingus to Barcelona airport, if you can get any sort of reasonable price. Getting to and from Reus or Girona just isn't worth the hassle. And no, you can't check in online. They don't charge you to check in a bag though, so it's grand.

On a side note, Barca isn't the shortened version of the city of Barcelona. It refers exclusively to FC Barcelona. It'd be like calling the city of Dublin "The Dubs". When written, it can be shortened to Bcna. Not being pedantic or anything! :p

Today I have had Clickair cancel 10 flights that I had booked for March 1st to 4th to Barceolna...! Niiiccccee... They had the cheek to charge over €160 for a name change on 2 of the seats only last Friday and them knowing about this cancellation since the start of January apparently...! Just be carful of them..! They just ruined a weekend that I was really looking forward to...!

    Rats

Yes indeed, that doesn't surprise me at all. They're not doing the Dublin - Barca route for the next 2mths probably due to lack of demand. They've been nothing but a headache for me.

Sounds strange, as any flights I have taken to/from the area on either Aer Lingus or Ryanair have always been pretty packed (mostly with Irish). I do not think demand is the issue here. I think the poor takeup on this flight could be more to do with the marketing campaign. There are still a lot of people in Ireland who do not know who clickair are.

Too true! My Catalan girlfriend cringes whenever she hears people call the city "Barça". I have been told that either "Barna" or "BCN" are acceptable.

Aer Lingus fly to Barcelona (BCN) from Cork if that is any good to you.

You not notice the little smiley at the end?:rolleyes:

Have you actually even rang Clickair yet to complain and get a refund or would you rather air your grievances here?

Oh yeah, I fúckin hate that roll-eyes smiley!
