sky remote not working

hi all

last night my sky remote stopped working on my sky box it still works the telly and i tried another sky remote from another box and still nothing the remote off the box that wont work will work on the other box i can chang the channels using the buttons on the box has anyone any idea what could be the problem

please move if in the wrong place i tried a search on boards but found nothing that covered this

Well, you've identified that the remote is not at fault.

Hmm, all I can suggest is maybe unplug the box from mains for a few minutes, and then plug it back in again and allow it to boot.

Otherwise, a forced software download.

Failing all that, the IR receiver in the digibox must be faulty.

i plugged it out all night and tried it this morning still no joy how do i force a software download just thinking i have a cordless phone on top of the box would that have anything to do with it forgot to mention when i tried it this morning the tv gudie button worked and the page up did aswell any ideas

Unplug the corldless phone and see does the remote work, this could be the cause.

Keep the phone away from Sky box anyway, as it can also interfere with certain channels, causing breakup etc.
