Hey All,

I recently done an interview for a HSE position. It went fairly well as last week they contacted me to ask if they could check my references to which I said yeah no problem. However it has been a week later and still no word and I'm starting to get a bit anxious.

As I have recently left college, one of my referees is a college lecturer whom I done a project under. Will this have any bearing in the outcome?

If anyone has had dealings with the HSE, please tell me how long the HSE generally takes to check work references and in which format (letter, phonecall, email) to they inform you of the outcome.
