Filling in the Firearms Application Form.

I own a rifle and now have bought a shotgun for clays.
I am at the moment filling out an application for the cert for the shotgun
    and have a few questions.

On my rifle Cert there is a Pulse ID I put
this in the Applicant Pulse ID field. Is this correct ??
Reason I ask is there is a field that says Certificate Pulse ID.
I was not sure if I had filled in the wrong field or not.

Ie is the pulse ID on my first ever firearms cert the pulse ID
I use for everything or is it specifically for my rifle only and
is it the cert pulse number.

Also since I dont hunt and only target and clay shoot I am unsure
    if I put down .....

    Unlimited- No Hunting Endorsement
    or
    Subsequent - No Hunting Endorsement

(Since I have already got a licensed rifle I did not know if
I needed to pick subsequent or not)

Lastly It asks for dealers ID.
The dealers Pulse ID is only 4 digits long which looks pretty
short wondering does anyone know of this is OK ?

Got pics of the blank form scanned if anyone is interested
in having a copy of a blank application to see what questions it asks.

(Mods I am assuming its OK to post the .jpg's of a blank application form
if its not let me know and I will edit the post to delete the image)

Nope. Don't fill in the Pulse IDs, leave those to the gardai.

No, that's for subsequent shotguns (they have a reduced licence fee). It doesn't apply to rifles or pistols.

Not sure. Might be better to leave that blank and let the Gardai fill it in.

    Beat you to it ;)

    Cheers for the info,

I already had filled in the Applicant Pulse ID number with the pulse
ID from my rifle cert. Did not want to Tip-ex it out so will wait to see
what my F/O has to say. It was good of him to post it out to me
as with my work schedule and the fact I only own a bicycle as my
primary mode of transportation its a nightmare trying to get to my
local station for things like this.

Bullets, I just checked my 2 certs & the Pulse ID on the rifle cert is the same as the one on the shot gun cert.

When I applied for both my guns, all I was asked to do was sign the blank forms and the Gardaí did the rest.

your pulse ID is your personal ID and no matter how many firearms you get you should have only one, its so computer firearms in Dublin know who you are when they are checking stuff up....as for the dealers Pulse ID 4 digit should be right, i purchased a rifle from a guy in Galway and his Pulse Id was only 4 digits.....prob to do with how long they have been a Firearms dealer....hope this helps....as for the tipex....ive seen my local sgt do a bit of painting on one of my applications as he made a mistake filling it out!

The dealer pulse ID is only 4 digits long bullets ;) and it should be on the note you got from the dealer for the gun purchased.

    Same here.

Whoops, scrap that. Just got my own application form to fill in. My local Garda station never seems to be open so I went to the next one over. They gave me the form, said fill it in and give to your local garda station's FO- who's never there. This should be good...

Just a wee tip - When filling out the form make sure that YOU add the amount of cartridges that you require - don't leave that bit to the Garda to fill in or you will only end up geting 100 max to buy, carry or store at any one time. I applied for 1000 9mm on getting my pistol, 1000 on getting my .22Mag Rifle and 500 for my shotgun and it all went though without a hitch. Since you will be clay shooting I'd recommend you go for at least 500 rounds but maybe play safe and go for 1000. You don't have to buy that many at one go but if you are in any way like me its comforting to know that you have a good stock at home ;)(UNDER LOCK & KEY) and do not have to plan too far ahead and visit a gun shop so often. I have friends who left that part of the form blank, they received 100 rounds on their permit and even when they buy say 200 rounds in a shop where they are well known technically they are in breach of the law.
Good Luck with your new shotgun.:)
