not going to Euro 2008 but i have been to four of the cities that are hosting Euro 2008; geneva, innsbruck, salzburg and vienna

Aer lingus flys direct to geneva from dublin, ryanair fly direct to salzburg and vienna from dublin.

UEFA are issuing this statement on their own website http://www.uefa.com/competitions/euro/organisation/ticketing/overview.html

    as for accommodation try http://www.hostelworld.com

out of the four cities i have visited (as stated above) Innsbruck was by far and away my favourite (the surrounding scenery is just amazing and blows all the other places away), salzburg is historial but i wasn't all that impressed with that city.

I have to agree with the above post, Innsbruck is absolutely an amazingly breathtaking city. An also Austrians are such nice people it was actually ridiculous. Have fun at your stay.
