Are you sure about number 2?

My understanding is that Icelandic surnames are based on your father's first name so if Eidur Gudjohnson's father was called Arnor Gudjohnson then Eidur's name would be Eidur Arnorson. If you see what I mean.

I thought the answer to that was going to be a trick question and that it was Michel Platini's kid who came on aged about six for the last few minutes of his dad's testimonial game about 20 years ago.

    It's true. He did.

Normally you'd be right, but Gudjohnson is an exception to the general rule. Here's an extract from Wikipedia:
The Icelandic system does not use family names. A person's surname indicates the given name of the subject's father (or mother in some cases), that is, it is a patronymic (or matronymic).

Some family names exist in Iceland. Most of them are inherited from parents of foreign origin, but some are adopted. One notable Icelander who has an inherited family name is football star Eiður Smári Guðjohnsen.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icelandic_name

    And also from Wikipedia:
On 24 April 1996, Guðjohnsen and his father entered football history in an Iceland international friendly against Estonia in Tallinn. Arnór started the match, and Guðjohnsen came on in the second half as a substitute for his father.

Both father and son have later expressed bitterness at the fact that they were not allowed to play together in the match. As it happened they never got another chance because a little while later Guðjohnsen broke his ankle, playing for the Icelandic youth team against Ireland.
