I like one as a show piece for sure, can't imagine they would cost too much either :)

100 dollar mark I think, will probably vary, but a good indicator.

    I'm surprised, 1 reply?

Is no-one as excited as I?:D

It may be a WE but come on!

For that price I'd be happy with it being a pretty good, real feel, replica to hang on the wall! :) .............being able to shoot bb's with it would just be a bonus ;)

Was there that many variants of a luger when they made them?

There were tons of variants to the design over the years, the Luger wasnt only used by the German army and went through various modifications etc to suit many and varied uses. The most common being the standard short barrell and the long barreled artillery, there was also a navy luger, the Finnish (or maybe the Danish army, cant remember?) adopted the Luger too with there own design, amongst others.

I think the website that is mentioned on arnies is already taking orders, I looked at their other pistol prices, as a measure of value, and they seem ok, good even.

I may get one, I might and I may, and I will says the gf beside me, who am I fooling?! Just a matter of when.

But.... They are tanaka based I think, and the tanakas have hammer issues, with hammers reportedly shattering? And wei's record, I've owned their best and worst and fixed them, but a new model in the line up can go wrong.

The 1911 is good but they still trade on the old hi-crappas, which aren't perfect out of the box, need a lot of work.

So I'm considering biting the bullet before reviews get out.

How is Cobra as a retailer? Anyone buy from them?? I want one of these lugers so bad.......dont care about shooting BB's, I just want a freakin' Luger!! :p

I wonder if the artillery lugers can be fitted with a buttstock as per the original? You can get replica buttstocks and straps on e-Bay for the artillery Luger from time to time.

TOOO GOOD TO BE TRUE !
    I can't belive it !:p
my search is over ....first I had a toy paper cap Luger then I found plastic airsoft Tanaka , then a non firung but "I look nice- buy me " Marushin Model Gun Luger ..........and now , a metal airsoft Luger in all 3 variants

I have a Drum Mag for my Tanaka Artillery - bet this will fit ( I'll make it fit ! ).

This is the best news I have had since Oct !.
Ohhhh Bugger , How do I buy this now ! I live in UK and we can't import any replicas :confused:

Still , I just joined this site as I want to find out what the scene is back my old gaff - I'm a n.Dublin boy still trying to make it abroad .
You guys have made my day !

If I do get one or three , they will go well with my al metal HFC Broomhandle Mauser .
By the way , for any Luger buffs , there was even a British Luger by Vickers I believe .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,509 ✭✭✭SpitfireIV

Well I went ahead and ordered a 4" model Luger from Cobra, total (including shipping) is just shy of €95. Will get the gas and whatnot here in ol' Eire.

The rest, as they say, is in the hands of the gods

Hey guys, I got an e-mail from Paul (Cobra Airsoft) asking if Ireland was under the VCRA? and if it was ok to send to Ireland or would a licence be needed.

Its listed as firing at 295fps, so its fine, right? I know once its under 328 its good, but whats the VCRA?

The VCRA (Violent Crimes Reduction Act) is a UK law limiting the importation of replica firearms and airsoft equipment.

Just tell him Ireland is a separate country from the UK and we are not covered by their laws. I've had this crop up with a few different retailers and suppliers.

Croppyboy, will you ask if the tanaka mags are compatible?

I'm not in contact with cobra myself, though will send an email now.

Edit: I'm ordering one now, anyone want in? Save shipping? I may wait till tonight.

    Hi ,
more for anyone reading this (as PM'd CroppyBoy ), the VCRA , is the new Law in UNITED KINGDOM only . Does not apply to Irish Republic .
The Violent Crime Reduction Act was a new Law that the British Parliament in London introduced back on Oct 1 .

Basically the worst piece of anti gun legislation . Intended to control gun crime , but in affect controls nothing but the collector and player - airsoft /re-enactment / lead pellet Airguns etc.

Croppy - get that Luger and post some pics !

Might as well, I've learned these places often forget to reply, and I'm about to make a move, either order from cobra myself, buy a few for people and share postage, and tony of eirsoft is interested too so may wait for him, if hes quick!:D

Just shy of €95 zero19, thats including shipping, the gun itself is $99 for the 4" barrel and shipping is $34 or 35 I think for 7-10 day delivery ( lets hope!)

Money doesnt matter, its a Luger, go sell a kidney, it'll be worth it! :D

E-mail sent to him Motosam ;)

Well, I took delivery of a very nice full metal luger about an hour back :D:D Still playing with it here (no gas for it) but its still fun to play with :p.

Review and pics to follow later, a few things I can say though is that I'm not fond of the finish, its a satin black spray over all with some parts a dark metalic grey finish, which would appear to be easy to chip. Lugers werent painted or sprayed! Wonder if its possible to blue, or oil blacken it? All down to the type of metal used I guess.

The grip plates are plastic and feel like plastic , WW2 Lugers had bakelitte grips, but these ones are ABS or such and do take away from the feel of the gun.

Apart from that its a nice weight, just a tad lighter than the real deal, the parts are numbered '15' and it has a date on the rop of the reciever of '1915'.

Ordered it last Thursday from Cobra airsoft was shipped Friday and arrived today, now thats good service :D

Damn you, I tried to order two but they would only accept paypal. My laser card doesn't work with PayPal... I'll have to wait for a more accessible retailer to stock one.
