    HI guys

I read this forum regularily but rarely post, I have a small quiry about preparation issues,

I play ultimate frisbee and today there was a trial for the Irish national team which will travel for the world championships in vancouver in august, today's trial was from 11am until 3pm with a small lunch break in between. Yesterday evening I had a huge feed of pasta carbonara and drank plenty of water, then this morning I ate two bowls of flahavans hi 8 with natural yogurt, then I cycled over to gonzaga from ballymun (i saw this as a little bit of a warm up, got my legs going, especially since I was riding a track bike).

We warmed up for 40mins which included a lot of jogging, dynamic stretching and then throwing. We then ran some drills which involved quite a bit of sprinting. We had a lunch break then and I took on some water, ate a few jaffa cakes, an orange and one piece of brown bread with butter, we warmed up again and then more drills involving running and catching. Then we had a game.

Now I don't know how many of you know Ultimate frisbee but it is very demanding if you are playing it at a high level, a lot of sprinting, changing direction, then when you have to throw you must be aware and concentrate on your throws. So we played a game for 30mins or so and then it was 3 so we warmed down and on the warm down jog so many people were pulling out with cramped, luckily I didn't thank god cause I had to cycle home. So then I cycled home and that was that

now what I want to ask you all is: What is the best type of preparation in terms of food for such a training session and what should I take with me to have during?

thanks for the help and if anyone is interested in playing some ultimate let me know

Sounds like a pretty good job done there tbh.

Maybe some liquid carbs sippped during the course of the game if you get 30 secs to spare every now and again.
