I have placed a DVD item in my Amazon basket but it will not dispatch this to my usual address. Other items in the basket will dispatch to my usual address. I have attached a screenshot.

It looks like you're buying that as a 2nd hand item, not from Amazon. Obviously, this seller doesn't ship outside the UK.

You're actually buying from a partner of Amazon's...

    Foxy.co.uk

Though they don't ship outside the UK.

    I dont think so, people.
If you look, you see that it is a new item.
The same thing happened to me today. I ordred various DVDs from various marketplace sellers (shops btw, not individuals). I was allowed to continue with my order for a seller in the USA, but my orders from the UK were blocked.

I had not had this problem in the past when ordering from the UK (my last order was placed 2 months ago)

I rang Amazon and they informed me that they were not allowed to send electronic equipment or DVDs to Ireland. I knew about the electronics, and had previously assumed that it was because of the possibility of damage. But now.......

2 possible reasons spring to mind...

    1. Have the government being putting them under pressure because the merchants do not charge VAT, as Amazon.co.uk itself does?

    2. Is someone applying pressure to try and close the imports market to "protect" the Irish shops so we can go back to being ripped off?

I'm off now to try place my orders with play.com

Is this Amazon.com, or Amazon.co.uk that you're ordering from? The not shipping of electronics is to do with the WEEE.

There should be no problem getting DVDs from Amazon UK delivered to Ireland, and it won't have anything to do with VAT. Besides the fact that they are based in the EU, and VAT is being paid, Amazon.co.uk charge the Irish rate of VAT to orders that are shipped here.

If you're ordering from Marketplace sellers, then it may be that they simply won't ship to Ireland, as it was for the OP. Brand new or second hand makes no difference to that.

This relates 2 marketplace sellers , as opposed to amazon.co.uk or .com .

As I said , I have not had a problem in the past, but today 5 out of 5 (UK only) marketplace orders were blocked because of delivery address. Now, either there was something wrong with the software, or there is some other reason. I dont believe none of them ship to Ireland.

Anyway, I have contacted the marketplace seller directly (well, via the amazon site) and asked if they know the reason. I will post their response.
