    i am just about to buy a car but the tax and nct are out for a few months, if i change the ownership do i have 2 weeks to renew the tax and to apply for the nct?

    If you buy now then you are obliged to tax it asap for Jan (not the previous months). Gardai will give you the two weeks (if not more) to do this.
    As for NCT, who cares? The gardai don't, your insurance doesn't as long as the car is roadworthy.
