Great picture - where abouts was that? All rain up there at lunchtime:mad:

Just to note that you seem to have the same link for the 4 pics.

It's just a short walk down from Kippure estate, I think it's the liffey or one of it's main tributaries. It started snowing around 10 and changed to rain around 12.

Great pics - lucky you were up there and not in Bray certainly more snow up there than in Bray (I assume if anything to go by here).

Never heard of that place - looks great. Must remember that place if there is any looming cold spells - would love to be snowed in somewhere! :D

That'd be the place, I was up there on a geography trip as well, and the owner said that he's had schools from as far away as Tipperary come up. Mustn't be anywhere else that does that sort of thing.

Yeah some friends of mine had a similar experience, they were up at around 2000ft in the south wicklow mountains and had lovely settling snow for an hour when it changed to rain.
It was the same as here.
Evidently the south east wind brought in the sea air quickly to the east even to the mountains whereas in the west they had a few hours of snow as they had the benefit of the transfer of the cold air from the midlands in that south easterly for a while before the modified sea air flooded into them aswell. They also had the lower -8 850 upper air for a while which we didnt have further south and on the East.

Lovely photo's as usual by the way.
In fact all the snow photo's by everybody were great this time-Well done :)
