Italy in March

    Happy New Year to all!!

I'm planning a holiday for March. Thinking of flying into Bergamo with Ryanair and spending 2 nights there, then 2 nights around Lake Garda somewhere and on to Venice for maybe another 2 nights and flying out of there.

I have found a couple of nice places to stay around Bergamo/Milan but really don't have a notion of anywhere for Lake Garda or Venice. We're looking for somewhere small - not your average big hotel like I've seen some of for Lake Garda - but something nice and Italian!!

Any suggestions for any of the places - or indeed better stops along the route between Milan and Venice...

    THanks

Never been to Garda, heard it's brill.

In venice I stayed off the island and deeply regret it, I think you really need to be on the island. Venice is great and the island is quite small so it doesn't really matter where you stay on it.

Lake Garda is very touristy and for more elderly people.

Try Lake Como the scenery is supposed to be even nicer
