    Hi,
I'm looking for a phone for a technophobe who wants to be able to just take photos and be able to take them to a photo shop and just get them printed.

Is there any phone out there that has a removable memory card that this could be possible with? Nothing too fancy or expensive, just simple and convenient and easy to use too.

Video recording would be nice too :)

    Sony Ericsson k800i.

Very cheap these days as well

Thanks for the quick reply :)

Is it a camera substitute though? Does it have a flash and that kinda thing and are the pics good enough quality?:

3.2 megapixel, the flash is good as well.

ehhh. It's a great camera, but as a camera substitute, I dunno.

I'm just having a look at the sony site and I can't see anything about being able to take out the memory and leave it in to get the pictures printed. Is this definitely possible as the person it's for wont be able to hook it up to a computer and choose what photos they want to keep etc so it's pretty important :)

yes any photo shop should be able to take the memory card and print from it or the person could use any of the photo printing machines at most shopping malls and in other places.

Cool thanks, what memory card does it take do you know? Is the K800i the only phone that'll do this?

it takes the small M2 micro memory stick and you can also use the print function on fhone to print your photos if you have a bluetooth enabled printer.

Get an M2 with a MemoryStick adaptor (mx2.co.uk - example).
Again, it's a great camera for a phone - not sure many phones can replace a camera just yet - google will show you some k800i sample photographs.
    It's also a great phone.

    Is this the thing? http://mx2.co.uk/default.asp?part=MS1GBM

I guess that new LG thingy is way out of my price range? Is there nothing a bit less techy with the same idea and focus on the camera?

Just had a look at some sample shots and they are a lot more impressive than the first lot I found when I googled:)

So for a technophobe, will this be easy? As in, shoot, save, take out memory card and give to photolab? As in Phone - photolab - printed pictures?

That one uses a USB reader
Just get a plain card with card adaptor

    Thanks for that :)

Can you set it so ONLY photos are saved on that card? So they aren't giving the photo lab a card full of other personal info they don't know they put on it kinda thing?

The photo machines will just view photos on the card
Most places you can do it yourself
Walk in with phone, remove card, put card in the adaptor that it comes with in pack above
Place adaptor in machine and away you go.....browse through 100 photos, select 10 or 20 good ones and print. Remove card and walk to desk and wait
