Will this give me proper surround

Folks,

I have this DVD http://www.epinions.com/pr-Panasonic_DVD-S35S_Standard_DVD/display_~full_specs and am thinking of buying this http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/541205/art/sony/ht-ddw890-home-cinema-sys.html or This http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/541204/art/sony/ht-ddw790-home-cinema-sys.html Can someone who knows more about this tell me if either of these sony systems will give me 5.1 or 6.1 surround with the above DVD player. My DVD manuall says i need an amp with "mutli-channel Dolby Digital Decoder". I will also want to hook up a Sky + box, do the sony systems have enough inputs to enable me to do this?

Outputs : Composite x 1, S-Video x 1, Component x 1, RGB (via SCART), Analog Audio x 1, Digital Audio Optical x 1

Thats the one you will need use to connect it to the amp. The 890 is a 6.1 system and has 2 Digital Audio Optical connections which means you'd also be able to connect a xbox360\ps3\sky box to it as well. The 790 is a 5.1 system and has only 1 Optical connection.

You'll need to use a TOSlink cable like this that you can get in different lengths
