    Hi all,

I was wondering, does anyone have an idea how and where I could rent motorbikes in cuba? Is it possible at all or even recommended? I am planning a two week trip with a mate of mine in February. Any info greatly appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Martin

A bit old but apparently you can only rent 50cc scooters unless you know someone with a bike and rent it off them.

    Hi Sean and Colm,

Thanks a lot for those helpful links. Especially the one Colm posted was particularly interesting. I am going to write to the motorcycle club in Havana to see, if they have any hints.

    Cheers,

    Martin

    Hi
Just about Riding in Cuba, I don't know much about renting a bike but I did see a travel company that will ship your bike on holiday :) -can't remember their name now.

The roads are pretty bad even motorways are missing massive chunks i.e. unfinished and have no cones or warning signs.

People rarely care for rules of the road, so no more than here, watch for people not watching or signalling.

Some of the cars are 60 years old have have 60 year old drum brakes and take a km to stop.

    Forget about replacing a tyre

Service stations are few and far between so pre plan each journey for petrol resources and mechanics (usually work on ladas not bikes)

Sorry to be off putting, It's an amazing country and biking around it would be fantastic but plan plan plan because you know what happens in this country when your bike stops on a monday :)
