Does anyone have the details of the most affordable shipping companies to ship a car from California to Ireland. I've been getting quotes from 1900 dollars to 3800 dollars. If you have the name of the company you have used and the price paid it would be appreciated. Thanks

What's wrong with $1900? You won't beat that, infact I'll bet there are lots of hidden charges to be added to that.

I'm shipping a bus from LA right now and have budgeted €2.5k inc. fees and VAT. but I'm happy to pay that with a reputable firm that will handle everything for me.

www.kingstown-shipping.co.uk, but they don't ship to Ireland.

    bazzer,

You'll definitely get stung at both ends for ports fees, customs etc, so budget for these extras. That said, €1,900 is cheap as chips as a base charge!

    yes yes yes,

1900 dollars is a good deal. Its a roll on roll off service from LA. Its actually 1650 dollars from LA but I’m shipping from S. F. The car is driven onto a freight rather then being boxed up in a 20ft container (they say to leave nothing in the glove as it will go missing!!!). The port fee’s and customs frees are another matter. Any idea what they might be? I’ll tried to call them but no answer.

Bazzerboy, this is the second thread you have started on the same subject:confused:?
I gave you a reasonably detailed breakdown of the costs in the last post on your first thread.
Why dont you Google Kingstown or Rybec and phone them with your exact details, the duty/tax costs will be based on the value of the vehicle.

Thanks Hi 5....... I appreciate your point i.e the second thread with same title. It was an oversight on my behalf. Apoligies.
The content was different. The first thread was concerning the costs and the second was asking if anyone had the names and prices of a good company.

For anyones information the 1650 dollar quote came from a American company called Ship overseas inc. http://www.shipoverseas.com/

Its called RORO i.e roll on roll off. Don't know what to expect. Can it be that bad. Bit like a B+I line i suppose.
