Usually with wax you need heat - so a hot hairdryer and keep dabbing the wax with absorbent cloth as it melts might do it. Or a hot iron over brown paper. Take it slowly though, and if the wax is a strong colour you might be left with a stain anyway.

Try what Dizzyblonde suggests - the brown paper trick should work. But if you're left with a stain, the only option will be to paint over it after you've removed as much wax as possible. With a bit of luck you might have the dregs of the paint lying in a tin somewhere.......

Scrape it off carefully with a palate knife, heat up whats left and dab it up with paper or tissue.

Good advice so far but don't try and touch it up with paint until you've removed all traces of wax; very few things stick to wax for very long, especially household paint.
When you've gotten rid of as much as you can with the heat methods, lightly sand the area on the wall to be rid of anything that may have gotten into the surface of the paintwork.
