    Hi,
I was wondering how people designed the logos for their sites? I'm not too bad at the code behind a site but I still havent been able to master psp to design a logo that resembles something web 2.0?
    Thanks
    Gary

I have a girl in Australia who does all my artwork for me. She's brilliant.

    I found her via http://www.scriptlance.com

Google is your friend, there's thousands of tutorials out there specifically for Web2.0 styles that literally spoon feed you from a blank canvas to a logo. I recommend you do a bunch of different ones to get familiar with the general technique and then just play around with it yourself to see what you can come up with. Honestly it's not that complicated.

You find a mate that can do it for you? I do alot of graphics for my brother-in-law who does great coding .... its a handy partnership when you dont charge each other crazy money. You bring in business for each other.

Do you have any examples of her work? How much is it for a logo?

I can't remember the quality of any in particular but there's nothing wrong with this one for example: http://www.photoshoplab.com/web20-design-kit.html

But as I said, you must absorb as much as possible, because with just one technique everything you do will start to look the same.

    Sure, have a look -

    http://www.staff.ie/zebras/

    It's about $50 per logo.

Id imagine some of the design companies out there will do logos. Some do Graphic Design as a service, in addition to web design.

    Hi Gary

$50 American. I think it's worth it. She's quite creative and the logos are very cute :)

Will you PM me your e-mail address and I'll send it onto her?

I've used Sitepoint Contests in the past and they've worked out fine: www.sitepoint.com/contests

In recent times, I've paid designers such as www.intrigue.ie and have gotten some great work done.
