Hey Guys, Thought this was interesting, I had heard the place was haunted before and these Orbs appeared in the outside pictures of the castle (Perhaps it was too bright inside?)

    edit: ok got'em now.

I hope Im not sounding ignorant but please can someone tell me how orbs translate as ghosts considering its common knowledge how dust, moisture even the location of the IR housing in a camera can all create orbs?

I just wonder, thats all. Ive never heard of any theories based on anything other than rough guesswork that orbs represent ghosties.

Well for me its not the orbs themselves (I've bitched enough about them on here) but more there behaviour.

If you consider how dust behaves when it close to a TV screen or anything with a static charge and the look at orbs it can kick up a few ideas.

Recently watching an investigation a girl was on video being "followed" by an orb ... this may simply have been dust (or similar) attracted to a charge on her cheap polyester top :)

So if a spirit walked through an empty room (for example) whatever the make up of the spirit is (electro-magnetic etc?) could this affect the behaviour of particles in the air?

I've taken a picture in a place I felt was very active, one second no orbs .... 4 seconds later hundreds - taken from the same spot. I'll try dig out the pics.

So my opinion is that orbs are nothing more than dust etc but their behaviour could be a good heads up to activity.

Im not so sure, i mean Im not great believer in Orbs but im convinced I have seen one before with my own eyes. Still not evidence of the paranormal in my opinion. However no one has ever explained to me why they appear in some images and not others in the exact same condiditons

if you google "infrared reflection red orb" you'll get a bit of info on the same idea

was there an IR camera around anywhere when the pic was taken (not including the one taking the picture, assuming it is infrared)?

oh I do believe you. I started getting excited about Orbs but now my own experience in hearing voices, recording evp, seeing lights ,being pushed and in my opinion my own undeniable photos that this is the place to be looking.

Im defintely all up for theories - having a theory means someone is thinking which is always a good thing. Im sure out of a million orb photos a small percentage wouldnt be explainable - which in itself would mean theres something to them. I go by the theory that orbs may be energy alright, but more than likely natural energy from the earth considering we havent any reason to tie them to ghost activity yet (also considering that orbs can be photographed anywhere.).

What concerns me is how people will readily believe somewhere is haunted due primarily to photographs of orbs. I blame most daunted for that.

Actually guys I've got a set of three photos from Pompeii .
It was in the Bath houses and no matter what I did I couldn't get the orbs out of the shots. I couldn't see them but they were there in the photos of the baths main room. I took a shot of the ground to see if it was the lense and nothing appeared. I'll post them later tonight when I get home.

with all respect, that still doesnt say anything either way about orbs and what they represent. dust can be invisible to the eye yet still reflect light to make an orb.

the classic experiment to try is set up a camera on a tripod and take a shot. then shake a dusty cloth in the area in front of the camera and immediately take another shot. It'd be orb heaven.

Thats why my idea about it being the behaviour thats important suits me.

Ok more than likely nothing but had a look at the pic and there's a white blob in the centre of the photo - see attached.

    blob.jpg

Might just be ivy or something but I'll have a look at my own castle pictures to see whats there.

Orbs caused by fine drizzle could account for the artifacts in the second photo possibly blown into the field of view by a light breeze.

I have a pic taken outside the castle with so many orbs I instantly dismissed it as mist or dust. Its very like the one posted above by 6th (the second one). I dont put much store on orbs in photographs, but if they have been seen by the naked eye as well, I think it gives them more impact as evidence.

I've loads of pics of orbs too, some in my house etc. Unless I see a video with an orb moving around and changing direction a lot I dont get excited. I never see the faces in them other people see either.

I did a little experiment in bed last night. Oh yes in bed.

What i did was i took a load of flash pictures in the dark and sure enough there were no orbs. I kicked my legs up down everyway and around under the blankets. Took a few more photos and you wouldnt believe it

.......... orbs in my room. Not many but one or two big ones. I repeated the process and it was the same everytime.Ill get the photos tonight and stick them on.

    My scientific conclusion

    Orbs are Dust

Ords are dust etc., but as I said above its their behaviour thats potentially interesting.

I have yet to be shown a photo taken on a film camera with an orb.
