    Hi lads,

i need to sort out all my songs in itunes. I've been looking for a program to help and have found one called media rage, has anyone used this before as i'm having a nightmare. I can get it to find the missing file details but can not work out how i update the actual file details in my library. Any ideas? or is there an easier way i have over 50gb of music and can't face doing it one by one.

    cheers

    Tin

It's a daunting task editing the id3 tags of that much music - I empathise with you. Do you have any info in the tags at all - just how much of a mess is it can you say ?

Media Rage - formerly known as MP3 Rage - will do things like use the file name like for example: Aha - Take On Me.mp3 and use this info to fill in the title and artist fields in the tags. or if the id3 tag contains the artist and song title it'll rename the file to match.

You can also select multiple songs in iTunes and hit command & i or go to File > Get Info, you can then for example enter the name of the album the tracks come from and iTunes will fill in this info on all the selected files.

If the files are just named Track1.mp3 etc with no album or artist info then I'm afraid no amount of software will help you :(
