Snap election after FF-GP government falls

So, an interesting TV show is back on TG4 from Wed 2nd at 10 - the setting of Running Mate is Ireland after tribunal disclosures have brought down the recently formed FF-GP coalition.

Not only relevant for the story, it's worth a watch for the time it takes to look at the small details of Irish politics. Lot of truth in all politics being local.

So, could the fiction become true? Would the Greens drop FF if there are criminal charges brought against senior politicians after the tribunals?

Or is the way that the tribunals are structured and drawn out going to be enough to bore us all to tears about it and ignore the blatantly unethical behaviour?

Well don't forget that FF + independents still have an overall majority, so it's not just down to the Greens.

Poetic really, in Running Mate it comes down to the independents too.

Nah, ca'nt see that happening. I believe that Bertie will cling on no matter what, and even if the tribunal dishes up anything unsavoury I believe it will be in the long term and by then it will make no difference. Added to this the Greens will not want to let go of power now as they may never get a decent shot again. No its the long haul IMO.
