I understand electronic goods cannot be bought now from the UK site. Anyone know what the reason is for this? I wonder could I buy headphones from amazon.com though.

It is due to WEEE regulations that Ireland has implemented. You could try amazon.com but then you have to deal with customs.

Unless Amazon's pricing is incredibly low and attractive you'd be better off getting the headphones elsewhere

It was actually 44% off a highly priced item. A price I could find nowhere else.

I bought something else instead though.
