    just have the game and playonline updated. I installed ffxi on my new pc there a few weeks ago with Vista 64bit home premium edition and it worked straight away no problems at all.

    if you're still having problems... Install PoL viewer on an XP machine, copy the directory and registry associations across to your Vista machine on a clean install, then install the expansion disks onto Vista. PoL viewer's the problem here - once it's on you're sweet.

    Couldn't get that ****ing Playonline thing working either on Vista.
    Last thing I need is a MMORPG in my life right now anyway.

    Same problem here, here is how you fix it...

    Uninstall all FFXI off the vista computer and download the link below

    http://dl.square-enix.co.jp/poleu/setup.exe

    Run that setup file.

    This will install the POL Vista for EU users.

    Then install FFXI CDs... then sit through 5 hours + of updates.

    Thats it if you get any messages saying no POL installed uninstall and reinstall but it should go through for more info on it click the link below...

    Also for those unaware you can get some cool plugins at this site

    Has cool plugin features like Party TP display, target distance, time stamp, recast timers for Job abilities etc.
