January 16th. Don't touch the current version, it's not even Universal/Intel mac compatible.

I've used the beta of Office 2008 and it's ok - really more of a face lift and a little bit of catch-up with it's Windows counterpart.

Unless there's something specific you need that only MS Office can provide why not try NeoOffice out - it might do everything you need for free or will at least tide you over until MS Office 2008 is released.

NeoOffice doesn't 'autocorrect' inverted commas into 6's and 9's. What's that about?

Neither does Word when you copy and paste from a web browser ;)

Huh? Its compatable, just not optimal. You can still run PPC code on Intel Macs.

That's the aspect of Word on a mac that I find extremely frustrating, thought I had found a solution a few months ago, but can't remember it now and it still doesn't recognise my misspellings unless I select the language for that particular doc.
