thinking of getting something like this, and getting rid of the factory fit radio in my 06 corolla. Just wondering has anyone got one like it ? and if so what are they like.

i did e-mail the seller asking can the gps be up-dated etc, and also for the frequency range for the fm, so it will pick up all the radio stations in ireland.

or does anyone have any other idea's.....

make sure the GPS actually covers Ireland, and that the stereo has RDS, some don't.
Bear in mind that you may get hit for import tax on it too.

It looks like a lot of bang for the buck, tho he has a cheaper double DIN for sale that has similar specs.

Runs Route 66 so even if it hasn't Ireland maps you should have no problem getting them.

found this one, and the seller said it can be updated via sd card, plus it's based in uk. also seems to support both route 66 and tomtom

i wouldnt bother with those unamed brands from ebay, you only have to google it and you'll see loads of people that had problems of all sorts with them., It has decent spec but if anything goes wrong with it you wont get any help from them.,

You can get a " real " brand for not much more that will actually work and last.

Buy once, buy right.......cheaper in the long run.

This Eclipse unit is very smart, but will not do DVD.

    See the mitsubishi in link.

    And on Eclipse site

That Eclipse yoke has a tiny screen. No price on Securesounds website, but I'd be confident it's big bucks.

OP I've done a bit of looking into those units you posted about.. they all seem to have an external GPS unit (that's hidden as part of the install) that actually runs Windows CE. The video out is sent to the headunit. Hence it's the same as most other PNA satnavs.

Dunno, but if I have a double DIN I'd go for one of those. A friend bought a Kenwood double DIN system with add on satnav, bluetooth and ipod connectivity. The user interface is crap, the most recent maps are 2002, and the whole thing cost him €1,500:eek:

The Kenwood system is easily the best Double Din all in one Navi/DVD system on the market at the moment, very easy to use and so is the Navi, it is Garmin afterall so is exactly the same to use as any Garmin, dont think too many people would knock Garmin Navi. And the most recent maps are about three months old.

The Eclipse screen is small cos it's a portable.

These days €1,500 is a good price for a good fixed in car Navi system.

I remember selling a top of the range Alpines about five years ago and the things cost about 5k, that was crazy money but they have come way down since then.

The picture of the first one gives a clue off the kinda quality ( or lack of ) these Chinese units offer.

Check out the select button on the bottom, this is a new unit I guess and it already looks like it's about to fall off, Junk.

well the first is the cheaper of the models this guy is selling...

the second one looks lot better and alot less than a kenwood....

will give a walk up to your shop before fri and see the options....

One thing I dont get is why is there no picture of the navigation menu shown it only shows the Navi symbol ; every other screen seems to be

gonna go with a kenwood DDX-7029 just have to go price them.
One or two places in england have them with the bluetooth option for about €600-650 delivered

same as the model on the attached link.
