Looks great. Anyone else think that,as one of the few scripted shows left when it comes back, and the hype of it due to its cancellation and being brought back, it has a good chance of getting high ratings and more episodes?

Of those who are looking forward to it - did you think the first six/seven episodes of Season 1 were good? Because I thought they were awful muck, some of the worst TV I'd seen in ages. Did it really improve that much?

The first few were pretty weak, but it really picked up at episode 8 (Rogue River) when a group called Ravenwood were introduced. Then with episode 12 ("The Day Before"), alot more questions were answered, and most episodes after that were excellent.

In summary - 2nd half of season MUCH better than 1st half.

Ye they were terrible,I liked the pilot, but then after that I was nearly about to give up but it gets a lot better. Of course you still have the bad dialogue in places and that annoying teenage lad with his snob girlfriend who you just really want to see get nuked...but other than that, there was a real improvment in the second half of the season.

Ditto. Episode 1 showed the promise, and was what hooked me in. 2-7 were fairly generic, with one or two (corn harvesting episode in particular) episodes being awful.

However, episode 1 still made me feel that there was some great potential in the premise of the show, and that I had to give it another couple of episodes. From episode 8 (Rogue River) the show finally got going, and did so at a great pace. It only got better with each episode and the season finale was class.

Jericho was the show I enjoyed most last year (not like Lost the big prick tease), and I was absolutely gutted to hear it got the axe. I just can't wait to start watching again, because if they continue from how they left off, it should be nothing short of brilliant tv.

I would recommend anyone who hasn't seen the show yet to get it fro their "cousins" abroad and binge on it during the remaining Xmas holiers.

Anyone know if there is plans for a region 2 release of the Season 1 DVD?

It's only a half season right? 12 or so episodes to tie it all up?

Aye, 7 episodes. But,they have all been finished, and since basically no other scripted shows around when it comes around, even it gets awful ratings I can't see them not showing all 7.

Fantastic news. Ive been preaching about this show to everyone I can. Yes, the start of the first season was fairly average, but once they branched outside the village of Jericho itself, it made for some of the best television out there. Much better than that Lost crap imo.

Its got a good primetime slot too, hopefully it will pick up new viewers so more can be made. Just bought season 1 on DVD too. Heres a message from CBS about it:
    Dear Rangers,

We have some exciting news and wanted you to hear it first. Later today we will announce Jericho’s return to CBS’s primetime schedule. Seven new episodes will be broadcast on Tuesdays at 10:00 PM, ET/PT beginning Feb. 12.

We hope you will rally around the new episodes of Jericho with the same passion and volume you displayed this summer to bring the show back. The writers and producers have crafted an exciting second season that picks up immediately following the battle with New Bern, as the town begins the rebuilding process, and along the way discovers why their small community is so important to the newly formed government, and what the true intentions of this new government might be.

In success, there is the potential for more Jericho, but we will need your help to recruit new viewers. For your friends or family who have never seen the show, the entire first season can be seen on CBS.com, or on the recently released Season One DVD set.

On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for your continued support of Jericho.

    Sincerely,

    Nina Tassler
    President, CBS Entertainment
