    Hello all,

I have been looking for a Chrome Scope for my .44 Mag Revl for a while now,
I have rang every shop in Dublin and up north that i know,

I don't like buying online just in case something goes wrong with it,

I need a nice Chrome 1-3x Scope to sit nicely on my Ruger .44mag

    Any help would be great,

Looking for something like a Leupold

Shops phone numbers send V PM if you like

    Thank you

Handgun scopes are pretty specialised pieces of kit and are usually used for hunting (as far as I know), and as handgun hunting is technically illegal here in that (again, as far as I know) handgun licences have only been issued for the purpose of target shooting, gun dealers don't/won't carry them in stock.
I'm sure your local friendly dealer would get one in for you if you told them what make and model you wanted.

Fair play to you for getting a .44 Magnum licenced, I don't know of any others in the country. What do you use it for, if you don't mind me asking?

Leupold make a nice handgun scope in silver, the M8 EER. it's a 2X fixed power and you can usually pick them up on eBay for around $120-150 dollars.
I've got a couple of them and there great for ammunition testing off the bench.

The higher magnification ones can get a bit pricey during auction.
Try Ballymount field sports, I have a feeling Derek was carrying handgun scopes for a while (Brand NC star)

I'd suggest getting a weaver style base and good quality quick release rings. I've done this for a revolver and it's a really easy to convert it to scope mount with a repeatable zero.
I used the Leupold QWR rings:

    With a rail like this:

Just pop out the site screws and pop on the rail, two minutes and it's ready(well thats all there is to a S&W 686)!
Be cautious of side saddle mounts, they can interfere with your grips if non standard and it doesn't return to zero on re-fitting. I know I have a one.
    Cheers,
    Slug.

 Flippin' heck! I have trouble seeing the little black centre at 25 :D

Anyhow, in that case, you're looking for a full-on handgun target scope that goes up to 8 or 10 or even 12 power.
The trick is getting the magnification required for shooting at 100 yards, with the long eye relief neded for handgun use.
Burris do such scopes in silver, as do Leupold, and do doubt many others, but they don't appear to be at the 'cheap' end of the scale.
