Haye (WBC/WBA cruiseweight champ) was rumoured to move up to heavyweight to fight Rahman, but now he's signed to fight Enzo Maccarinelli (WBO cruiseweight champ) in march for the undisputed title.

    Thoughts?

I think the match up is more competitive and a smarter step up for haye, this will be a massive match for british fans and will give haye more time to fill out into a proper heavyweight, rahman is passed it and was never much good anyway so there was little to gain from this, im now looking forward to this fight..

didn't think haye would go back down to cruiser thats why i thought he wud be fighting rahman.

Will be a great fight, but it's high risk low reward for haye it dosen't really make sense, but i still think haye will win it.

To build his name this side of the water its a big fight and big rewards too, not so much in the states but thats to come!

have to disagree with you there theres no need for him to build his name over this side of the pond it's more important that he builds his name the other side of the pond.

He really struggles to get down to cruiser and he admitted himself that his legs were shaky againt mormeck because of the weight.

I think it's a case of frank warren timing his fighters opponent to perfection haye will be weak and it gives enzo a chance.

You have to give it to him he's not ducking anybody he dosen't reallly need enzo but he's still fighting him.

If this fight was at 210 or even 205 lbs I'd be certain of a Haye victory but the weight issue really is a big problem for him at Cruiserweight . He didn't look the same against Mormeck but still managed to pull through , however this fight is 4 months on from Mormeck and the weight will probably have an even bigger effect .

Maccarinelli has improved under Enzo Calzaghe aswell , however I still fancy Haye to get the job done and win by ko(as usual) .

Frank Warren is very smart in his timing though , Haye will be at his weakest ever(in regards to weight) and will be moving up to Heavyweight in his fight after this . So the WBO title becomes vacant........and I think I know who'll be one of the people fighting for that vacant WBO title should Haye be victorious .

    [the hint is he's Welsh]

i'm amazed haye took this when he stuggles so much with the weight  money talks eh. I wonder will there be a problem making the weight like fights we've seen not too long ago

Very surprised to hear this is on (despite the fact that I have stated regularly that I'd love to see them fight) as Haye's weight problems are very well documented.

I'm not at all convinced it's a good idea for Haye and wouldn't be surprised to see him stopped by round 7-8 if he doesn't finish Macc off early.

I don't think haye's weight will be as big an issue as everybody thinks.Haye has said that he has not stopped training since his win over mormeck, saying that i still think enzo has a great chance of winning.

I favour Haye quite strongly in this one. Enzo can bang, and that fact has to be respected, once the bell rings, by Haye. But I think Haye has too much in the locker for Enzo. Haye, imho, hits harder, can box fighter, moves better, and is mentally stronger.

Will be an interesting match up though, and one that I am looking forward to watching.
