    Howdy,

I know they've been discontinued and it's now post-Christmas, but does anyone know of any last-ditch 60GB's floating around anywhere in the retail sector, or will I have to nab one on eBay?

Considering they were sold out weeks ago, probably no chance of new. Someone said there wass a few on buy and sell.

I think second hand will probably be your best best. Have a word with the staff in your local videogame shop and ask them to give you a shout if one appears on trade-in.

They definitely weren't ALL sold out weeks ago, otherwise I wouldn't be asking! There was still a few around in the run-up to Christmas as far as I know. Cheers super_furry, did so yeserday.

Which begs the question, If you know there are some around, why ask here?

Multiple threads since their discontinuation have suggested they can't be got.

I saw a 60gb PS3 as a Display model in Curry's in Sligo about a week ago. Not sure if they can be convinced to sell it though.

Got a 40gb today for €299. Already have a ps2 slimline, so saw no reason to look for the 60gb myself.

Whats your main reason? backwards compatibility?

where did you get it for €299?!?!?!

yeah i would like to have the "all in one"... i have a ps2 as well but i'd rather the 60gb and get rid of the old PS2

there are lots of reasons to look for a 60gig

    2 more usb ports
    card reader
    backwards compatible
chrome strip (ok this one doesn't really count).

moe, power city were doing 40gig ps3's for 299 on stephen's day or the yesterday can't remember christmas period blends into one big day for me.

card reader i have a card reader in my pc, so no use for that,
backwards compatible buh, only have one or two ps2 games, and already have ps2 so not an issue for me
chrome strip (ok this one doesn't really count). lol

its said the 80GB model wont support as many ps2 games as the 60GB as it uses software emulation

europes 60 gig already uses software emulation, instead of hardware, so dont let that hold you back.
