I got a 3G phone for Christmas, which has a new sim and new number. Is there any way I can keep my old (vodafone) number instead?

    I assume you mean 3? 3g is a shop, not a network.
You can port your no. Head into a shop to sort it.

Try filling out this form on their website, might save you hassle of going into a shop.

Also, 3G is a technology which Vodafone & O2 have also. 3 is the network.

The 3G shop? Don't get me started - they should be forced to change the name, there's enough confusion as there is! :D

Or... maybe he got a phone thats has 3G, it could be vodafone and this could be solved by just putting his old sim card into the phone.
