UK Gold on Chorus in Cork

    A mate of mine is having trouble with the UK Gold channel down in Cork he is on their full digital package and it's telling him he isn't subscribed to it,I know there was a post here a while ago about something similar I've been searching for it but can't find it,any ideas as to how he can fix it ? or does he have to ring up Chorus ? Thanks in advance for any replies ;)

    If its anything like NTL Digital, just reboot the box. The older NTL box was constantly telling me that I wasn't subscribed to channels, including RTE 1 !!!!!

    What's the procedure to reboot it ?

    1) Turn off box with remote
    2) Unplug/switch off at socket.
    3) Wait a moment
    4) Reconnect power
    5) Turn on

    Box will reboot.

    (not meant to be patronising but that's how you do it :) )

    If the problem continues, he should give Chorus-NTL a shout, it could be a fault of some sort.

    Normally, it will say that you're unsubscribed for a few mins, but if you leave the box alone for a while then try the channel again it's unblocked again. I think it's just a case that the box isn't ready.

    The new UPC DVR boxes seem to be more reliable in that regard, at least on my connection anyway.

    Both Chorus and NTL used dirt cheap basic boxes. It's unsurprising that they're a little glitchy at the best of times :)
