st stephens night is always good, cos you get to talk about christmas and how hammered you got on christmas eve. In dublin, im reasonably sure ive ended up in the turk's head each of the last couple of years, having been in the pub in ranelagh beforehand

Dublin City Centre is absolute hell on Stephens' night. The last time I went into town for it, I ended up sitting on OConnell Street as we couldn't get a taxi, then paying a guy who ran a bus service for the staff in the stores in OConnell Street to drop the 6 of us home. Worked out alright but was definitely not worth it.

Tonight will be much the same as the other nights this Christmas, few cans, a fire and watching whatevers on Tv.

Forget the city centre. Do as people are saying and go local if you want to go out. Not all pubs will be open though, so even with your local, it is something you have to watch.

Most of my friends are staying in with their significant others. :(

Fúck it. I'll just have a few cans and a ****.

I'll probably just call over to a friend's house and have a few cans. I hate going out on Stephen's Night because everywhere is packed with **** who only ever go out tonight and on Patrick's Day. Bloody amateur part-time drinkers, stealing our seats and blocking up our pubs! **** off home and leave the nightlife to the regulars! Pubs and clubs should bring in a loyalty card system where only regulars are allowed in on busy nights.

my dad goes out on the lash every Stephens night

Heading to Cork City tonight..will be manic, but feck it!

A friend and I always make a promise that we'll head into the sales together early the next morning, but alas we're always to hungover/tired and end up going nowhere that day!!

    Hopefully we'll make it tomorrow!!:D

I had the flu since Saturday and am only better today - fcekin typical coz I have work in the morning

If I was going out it I would definitely have gone to the local. The local pub is always great for Stephens night.

Not gonna bother. Stephen's Night in Cork is crap. Gonna save my money for Friday night, Saturday night and New Year's Eve (either Kerry, Dublin or London - haven't decided).

Why couldn't you join one of them? Cheer up, could be a lot worse. There's this notion that you HAVE to go out on those nights or you're a loser - a lot of people prefer to stay in.

well i know it pretty pointless but i was supposed to be goin to the Arc at liffey Valley but its tickets only and the designated ticket buyer didnt get them. not too bothered anyway...i'm well and truly in Lazy mode. plus...i dont wanna be hungover for the Sales tomorrow! ooh yeah!

but doesanyone know are there many plaxes open in town?? a mate just rang to ask me....i have no idea. id say its all ticket only?

Stayed in tonight and played Monopoly with the family and my boyfriend (4 years together today!) which was nice. Nothing like a nice game of Monopoly to start the annual family fights.

My mum told me that 'back in the day' you either went 'dancing' or to the cinema on St. Stephen's Night. I think she was suggesting that my plans were a bit sad. :(

Stevens night and New Years night have always being very messy nights in my experience.....not enjoyable at all. Although I did go out tonight and I had a good night but on previous occasions I've been out they've always being ****e. I'm not sure where I'd go in Dublin but I'm sure you'll find some place that will be reasonably ok.

Not a hope would I go near a pub on St. Stephens Night. Fighting for a pint in the middle of a fire hazzard. No thanks.

I stayed in and watched I am Legend.
It was ****e and he dies at the end.
