The site I buy all my computer stuff off is doing an olympus e510 twin lens kit for €735 inc postage to Ireland. With the €150 cashback offer this makes it come in at €585. I wasn't planning to buy a DSlr but this offer really has me thinking. Would I be a fool to pass it up?

If you have no other pressing need for the money, and an interest in photography it would be foolish to miss out on this offer, the e510 is a great little camera and the two lenses are great value for the money.

    Go for it.:D

    Care to share the site?

    Disclaimer: I'm a E510 owner, E500 before that.

Have the E510 myself and the it's a super camera in body IS and dust reduction. It was unbeatable value even at the 900 mark for the twin lens kits but for 585 it's a steal.

by the way those kit lenses are both ED lenses on par in image quality with canon's pro range. please share the site ?

I shouldn't relly have an account on the site (its trade only) so I'd rather not say. But the €150 cashback is avaiable though Olympus from their UK site. ROI customers are eligible. It applies to body, single or double lens kit.

I was looking to get a new camera and, with all the bewildering choice out there, eventually decided to go for this Olympus package, the twin lens one.

Last Sat I was in Dublin, I first off went into the small camera shop just off Dame St (ExchequerSt?). Price for the Olympus e510 twin lens kit was €1020 with €150 cash back, €870 net. Too much. (Note the best price on-line I could see was €750)

Off then, up Grafton St. In Pixels.ie, same package was €899 with €150 cash back, €750 net. (not bad, and tempted)

Off then and into the Camera Centre, at the top of Grafton St. Exact same package on sale at €699.99, with €150 cash back, so €550 net.

I couldn't pass it up, so I've invested and I'm delighted. It's a beautiful piece of kit.

having been in that shop a couple of times before, i reckon the price was a mistake, given the competence level of the staff in there. still, if so, their loss, your gain.

Cashback offer ended 31st December unless they extended it??? Or right you bought Saturday. I didn't order one after but would have picked it up if I knew I could get it localy for that price.

TBH, that was my thinking exactly. I reckon they put the single lens price on the twin lens kit. They told me the deal was "so new" they didn't have time to print up the price properly, but they had the price in more than one place in the shop.

Camera had to be purchased before 31st Dec and cash back had to be submitted before Jan 14th. (It's already been sent by registered post!)

    Happy Snapper! :D

No mistake it was an offer price they were getting from the supplier. Unfortunatly they can't get it any more. Some deal for €510 though! Lenses alone are worth that.
