    Hey all,

I started to notice a very slight rattle/vibration coming from my ps3. It's so faint that I only noticed it at night but it is always there even when the fan is idling. It's not coming from some other thing on my desk vibrating and I'm wondering if anybody else has this noise and should I be worried?

Its almost like a knocking sound low frequency vibration. I first noticed it when the machine was in standby at night. It turns out that if you have remote start activated then standby is not really standby and only the display is deactivated so the fan was still running and kept me awake. It seems to be happening when the fan is at idling speed but I'll check next time I'm playing a game to see if the rattle goes when the fan runs at higher speeds.

Ok so I rang the playstation support line, its 0818365065 if anybody is interested, and told them about my rattle problem and they agreed that it should not be making any noise like that and to bring it back to the shop I bought it in. So I paid a quick visit to Harvey Norman in Blanch today and exchanged my dodgy ps3 for a brand new one with no question asked. In fact it was a great service because I rang first to see if I could return it to the Harvey Norman in Swords, its nearer to work, and the guy in Blanch, Colin is his name, said that Swords have none in stock and that he only had two left. He said he would put my name on one so I drove over today and did the exchange and got the very last ps3 in Harvey Norman blanch! I am very happy with this service and all I can hope is that my new Ps3 won't make any funny noises!
